3 Drawn Work
Fancy work done on cloth by drawing out some threads while other threads are fastened together to produce design. Dresden point lace of the 17th and 18th centuries was a kind of drawn work. -
4 Swedish Work
A kind of hand weaving used in the making of braids, straps and narrow ribbons. A small frame shaped like a comb has holes at the points of the eight prongs, and red threads pass through the holes while 7 white threads pass between the prongs. The weft is wound on a small thin shuttle and worked as required between the two sets of warp threads. -
